Raw, introspective and beautifully imperfect, Beautiful Damage explores the darker side of alternative youth culture through a blond punk boy surrounded by candlelight, distressed walls, torn zines and layers of handmade underground graphics. Rough typography, scratched symbols, worn paper, shadowy corners and flashes of rebellious imagery give the artwork the feeling of a bedroom wall slowly covered in memories, music and things nobody else quite understands. Black, aged cream and deep red dominate the palette, creating something grittier and more intimate than the brighter pieces in the collection.
